Welcome to Casa Alma
This newly renovated, elegant ground & first floor apartment is part of a converted glass factory. Situated in a central but quiet district just outside the walls of the Arsenale, Casa Alma is ideal flat for visitors to the Venice Biennale. With 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, the apartment sleeps up to 5 people. Minimum stay is 3 nights.
The Apartment
The entrance opens into a double-height kitchen & living area open to the roof beams above. Traditional single pieces of décor such as Murano glass wall-lights, the Venetian Ottoman, engraved mirrors and the Terrazzo floor, contrast with the contemporary kitchen, modern appliances, paintings and photos.
Light from large industrial windows illuminates the downstairs master bedroom, with its adjoining mosaic-tiled bathroom. Upstairs, a more intimate roof-lit twin bedroom has the luxury of a relaxing bath in its own en-suite in the rafters.
The flat is ideal for families, friends and couples visiting Venice, or for longer stays by researchers, academics and professionals. The space is designed to be flexible and can accommodate many different needs. Children are welcome, dogs are allowed, but the flat is definitely no smoking.
We all loved being at Casa Alma …
“We all loved being at Casa Alma – tucked away in a residential non-tourist part of the city, with real shops to hand, and very friendly neighbours. The added bonus was having all mod cons; great bathrooms that worked perfectly, comfortable beds … and air conditioning. Being able to sit out in Calle Celsi of an evening was also a great bonus”.

The perfect place to stay …
“Nestled under the wall of the Arsenale, casa Alma, was the perfect place to stay for a visit to the Biennale.
If you’re reading this we have left the building.
If not, then we have stayed, which is what we really want to do.”

… in a lovely neighbourhood
“We spent some wonderful days in the apartment (and of course in Venice) in a lovely neighbourhood, with lots of tourists stranded in this dead-end lane!”

Beautiful, well-equipped, and spotlessly clean …
Beautiful, well-equipped, and spotlessly clean apartment in a peaceful, charming part of Venice. Marika was a wonderful host, helping to find me when I got lost on arrival and responding to enquiries very quickly. Highly recommended.

Insomma, siamo stati benissimo!
“L’appartamento è comodissimo per la Biennale e anche vicino a Piazza San Marco, ma lontano dalle folle dei turisti. Marika è una padrona di casa attenta e sollecita. Insomma, siamo stati benissimo!”

Loved staying in Casa Alma
“Loved staying in Casa Alma. Beautiful apartment to stay in for our Biennale art trip & course. Really appreciated all the lovely attention to details (like supplying coffee, salt, etc.). Also appreciated the warm welcome by Karin. Will definitely recommend this place to others.”

Casa Alma was perfect for us
“We felt very relaxed and confortable and cared for at Casa Alma. The apartment is lovely in every way and Castello is great: wonderful crumbling architecture, lots of locals, lovely little squares, shops and bakeries. Cross a bridge however, and you’re in the full flurry of tourism (if you want it). Within spitting distance of the Biennale, Casa Alma was perfect for us.”

… the best place to feel at home in Venice
Marika is the ideal host and Casa Alma is the best place to feel at home in Venice, near to the central places but far from the crowd.

Wedding anniversary
“Marika left flowers, wine, and sparkling water to help us celebrate our wedding anniversary. Her mum showed us all around the apartment and gave great suggestions for restaurants and off-the-beaten-path sights.”

I could go on raving about this place!
“Thank you for sharing this exceptional house with us – it fitted our circumstances perfectly.
The artworks are wonderful and make all the difference from staying in other holiday homes with the standard prints on the walls.”
“It was the entire ‘package’ that was perfect: the warm welcome, the super information on events
and restaurants, the cleanliness, quietness, easy access, flexibility around check-in …
I could go on raving about this place!”
