This newly renovated, elegant ground & first floor apartment is part of a converted glass factory. The Apartment

The entrance opens into a double-height kitchen & living area open to the roof beams above. Traditional single pieces of décor such as Murano glass wall-lights, the Venetian Ottoman, engraved mirrors and the Terrazzo floor, contrast with the contemporary kitchen, modern appliances, paintings and photos.

Light from large industrial windows illuminates the downstairs master bedroom, with its adjoining mosaic-tiled bathroom. Upstairs, a more intimate roof-lit twin bedroom has the luxury of a relaxing bath in its own en-suite in the rafters.

The flat is ideal for families, friends and couples visiting Venice, or for longer stays by researchers, academics and professionals. The space is designed to be flexible and can accommodate many different needs. Children are welcome, dogs are allowed, but the flat is definitely no smoking.

  • Beautiful place …

“Sehr schöne Lage, ruhig, gemütliches Appartment! Wir haben nichts vermisst.”

(Beautiful place, lovely apartment: we didn’t want for anything.)

  • The perfect place to stay …

“Nestled under the wall of the Arsenale, casa Alma, was the perfect place to stay for a visit to the Biennale.
If you’re reading this we have left the building.
If not, then we have stayed, which is what we really want to do.”

  • We all loved being at Casa Alma …

“We all loved being at Casa Alma – tucked away in a residential non-tourist part of the city, with real shops to hand, and very friendly neighbours. The added bonus was having all mod cons; great bathrooms that worked perfectly, comfortable beds … and air conditioning. Being able to sit out in Calle Celsi of an evening was also a great bonus”.

    Jacy Wall, Artist

  • Loved staying in Casa Alma

“Loved staying in Casa Alma. Beautiful apartment to stay in for our Biennale art trip & course. Really appreciated all the lovely attention to details (like supplying coffee, salt, etc.). Also appreciated the warm welcome by Karin. Will definitely recommend this place to others.”

  • Casa Alma was a fantastic place …

“Casa Alma was a fantastic place, I’m glad we enjoyed our short stay here in Venice. Wish we could have stayed longer. We really appreciated the upgraded, well renovated Casa. We have stayed at many different Airbnbs and this was by far the nicest place.
Thanks for making us feel at home and welcoming us.”

  • Fantastic location

“Casa Alma was a fantastic location as a base to explore, adventure and get lost!

  • … a perfect place to stay

“Casa Alma was a perfect place to stay. The apartment is wonderfully decorated, fully furnished and very luminous. The beds were comfortable and we had more than enough space for 2 adults + 3 teens. Castello is very quiet, so no trouble sleeping at night. It’s an area still full of Venetian and very few tourists.

Marika and her mother were perfect hosts and answered every text message during our stay. We’d definitely book this place again on another trip to Venice. Grazie mille Marika! Ciao!”

  • We have had a fabulous week …

“We have had a fabulous week, relaxing at the Lido, strolling and shopping in San Marco and eating in lots of wonderful restaurants.

We really loved the apartment. What a beautiful place to stay and to come back to after the heat of Venice. The air con was a god send.

    x thank you.”

  • Thank you for making our stay so easy & enjoyable

“Four days in Venice is not enough. Staying at the fabulous light and airy apartment ‘Casa Alma’, central for all the venues for the Venice Arts Biennale.
Great places to eat & drink within walking distance.
We are already planning our return visit. Thank you for making our stay so easy and enjoyable.”

  • … a haven of rest and peace

“Thank you once again for sharing your lovely house with us. We had a wonderful time in your little paradise, a haven of rest and peace, lovely to come home to after a day in the middle of the crowds in Venice and its biennale.”

    Pascale De Groote
‎Vice-Chancellor at AP Hogeschool, Antwerp, Belgium

  • Casa Alma was perfect for us

“We felt very relaxed and confortable and cared for at Casa Alma. The apartment is lovely in every way and Castello is great: wonderful crumbling architecture, lots of locals, lovely little squares, shops and bakeries. Cross a bridge however, and you’re in the full flurry of tourism (if you want it). Within spitting distance of the Biennale, Casa Alma was perfect for us.”
Heather Parnell: Leader MA Arts Practice, University of South Wales

  • A splendid apartment …

“A splendid apartment in a peaceful location, lovely airy rooms beautifully decorated. Everything you need to cook, relax and sleep near the sights in Venice with a sunny back alley for alfresco dining. Friendly owners passionate about Venice and the arts and were happy to advise and keen to make our stay perfect.”

  • Incredibly beautiful and ideally situated flat …

“We can’t thank you enough Alan, Marika and Karin. This was the perfect place for us to explore Venice – an incredibly beautiful and ideally situated flat. We have loved being here!

Thanks for all the helpful tips, we sampled all the recommendations for restaurants: Il Covino, Il Bancogiro, Da Jonny and all were fantastic. We don’t want to go home 🙁 but hopefully we will be back.
    Lots of Love.”

Wendy Petitdemange, Mike, Anna and Callum

  • Super apartment

“Casa Alma is a super apartment furnished to a very high specification. Clean and comfortable, it’s a very good base from which to explore Venice.”

    Terry Goldsmith

  • Beautiful, well-equipped, and spotlessly clean …

Beautiful, well-equipped, and spotlessly clean apartment in a peaceful, charming part of Venice. Marika was a wonderful host, helping to find me when I got lost on arrival and responding to enquiries very quickly. Highly recommended.

  • … the best place to feel at home in Venice

Marika is the ideal host and Casa Alma is the best place to feel at home in Venice, near to the central places but far from the crowd.

Koen Kessels, Music Director of Birmingham Royal Ballet

  • Elegant and cosy …
